Beating Barriers

A bespoke 12 hour (over 12 weeks) programme that increases Young People’s social mobility, access to learning opportunities, counselling, intensive mentoring and offers Family Support services.

  • The programme works on a 1:2:1 basis with an individuals and families over 12 hours (12 weeks).

    There is an initial assessment to ascertain all the barriers that the individual or family are facing and designs a bespoke service to meet their needs.

    Where an EHCPlan is in place, that will cover the costs of this programme. Those without a EHCPlan may be eligible to access fully funded placement obtained through FACT.

    Keane Futures is our educational partner offering subsidised tuition for participants on the programme.

Our journey so far…

Beating Barriers programme has completed 12 months of the programme offering. In that time we are thrilled that we have been able to reach 120 families, 88 families were supported beyond initial telephone advice.

Through the tailored programme we have seen greater family cohesion, increase social, emotional and mental wellbeing, and young people and their families finding access to education and work which in turn has had profound benefits to the family units as a whole.
